JODHAMAL TAKES A CLEAN SWEEP IN THE STATE LEVEL MUSIC COMPETITION

As many as 50 students of Jodhamal Public School Jammu show cased their talents in the field of music and were adjudged winners in their categories. Students participated in Solo Instrumental (Casio), Casio Group, Guitar Light music (Vocal), Solo Singing, Group Singing and Rock Band. The Young Musicians who Rocked at the Pt. Uma Dutt Sangeet Mahotsav at Nirvana Academy in Casio Solo were Mian Mohammad Raza - Ist, Gauri Sharma - 2nd, Kartik - 1st, Prisha Chandok - 2nd, Prakhar Bist - 3rd, Satwik Sharma, Aadhya Sambyal - 2nd, Koustav - 3rd, Janeesh Pal - 1st, Prateek Singh - 2nd, Zitin Koul – Consolation, Ananya Mahajan – 1st, Amrit – 3rd, Fiza – Consolation, Mansha – Consolation, Dhairya Chowdhary – 1st, Soham Ranjan – 2nd and Aditya Bakshi - Consolation. In Group Singing- Saquib, Shaan, Arya, Vinamr, Naitik and Aditya won 1st Prize. Nandini Kapoor, Arya Abrol and Aditya Narayan won in Solo Singing Both Light and Folk. In Solo Golden Guitar – Bhavya Grover, Sankalap Verma and Gursimer Singh won 1st prize. Mehul Yadav, Kshitij Sethi and Naman Chandok won 2nd prize. Sudhanshu, Arnav Malhotra and Bipasa won 3rd prize. The Rock Band Stampede of Jodhamal also won 1st prize, Vanshika and Shivangi, Arjun and Sudhanshu won 1st prize in Duet Guitar Competition. In Classical Singing too, the young musician excelled. Ayush Pandita, Mahender, Charanjeiv, Manasdeep, Arshpreet, Sherish, Kirti and Harbans won prizes in their respective catagories. Principal Mr. Trilok Singh Bist and athe school Management Congratulated the music teachers Mr. Deepak, Mr. Sahil and Mr. Subash Day and the students for their grand achievement and wished them for more successes in the future.

JODHAMAL STUDENTS WIN MEDALS IN NATIONAL MEET

The 8th ALL INDIA MATSOTI DO NATIONALS were held recently in Sholapur, Maharashtra. Teams from 16 States took part in the championship. 17 students of JODHAMAL SCHOOL were representing J&K State. These students did exceedingly well and won 11 medals. 5 Gold, 1 Silver & 5 Bronze Medals. The Gold medal winners were Anirudh Thakur, Vaasu Dev, Kanav Sabharwal and Avichal Rampal & Akshit Sharma. A silver Medal winner was Vasu Sharma. Bronze Medal winner’s aere Nikunj Langer, Ahmed Ziya, Aakash Gupta, Aditi Sharma and Jatin Mahyan. The team was coached by Vishal Samrat and Gurdeep Singh and was sent by the State Association of Matsogi – Do. Teams from Maharastra, J&K, U.P., Punjab, H.P., Chandigarh, W.Bengal, Manipur, Delhi, Rajasthan, Nagpur, Gujrat, Assam, M.P., and Uttranchal States took part in this Championship.

JODHAMAL STUDENTS PROVE TO BE THE BEST IN DEBATING CONTEST

(JMPS makes a clean sweep at Dogra Law College Debate) Dated: 01/02/2013:- Jodhamal students once again prove their mettle by winning the over all trophy in the 2nd Matushri Inter School Dogra Law College Debating Contest. JMPS emerged winner among the 29 participants from 15 elite schools of Jammu. Shivang Puri a student of grade VIII at Jodhamal clinched the first position and was awarded a cash prize of Rs.1000/- along with a beautiful individual trophy. It was a matter of pride for JMPS that Mayank Mahajan of grade X won the second position in this debate and won a cash prize of Rs.700/- besides an individual trophy. The Over All Running Trophy also was bagged by Jodhamal Public School and was adjudged the best debating team for the debating skills. Everyone appreciated the confidence poised, diction and content of the Jodhamal students who portrayed the correct picture ‘for’ as well as ‘against’ the Motion - “Prevailing Education Policy in the Schools- Is it Adequate Enough in Personality and Potential Development of the Students?” Recently Jodhamal Public School made a mark by participating in the Debating Matters online under the aegis of British Council and special certificate has been awarded to the school for excellence. In another competition a symposium contest conducted by Model Academy on the topic-“Can Exuberance of Youth Provide an answer to India’s Political Woes?” Akansha Sharma of Jodhamal Public School won accolades by winning a third position and her confidence and content was also appreciated by one and all in spite of being the youngest participant of the contest. Principal Trilok Singh Bist appreciated the efforts of the students, teachers and parents for this collaborative teaching wherein all feedback of the parents help the school to grow from strength to strength. JODHAMAL STUDENTS SWEEP J&K FINE ART CONTEST

Dated: 28/02/2013:- The young budding artist of Jodhamal Public School were declared winners in various categories of Design a Card Contest 2012-13 that was held in collobration with Kala Niketan – a centre for creative art under the aegis of J&K Fine Arts Society a group of contemporary Artists. More than 1600 Children from various reputed schools of Jammu city took active part in this card making competition. In Group ‘A’ Jodhamal students took a clean sweep by winning first, second and third prize. Man Mohit Singh was adjudged first, Devanshi Dhar second and Suhani Gupta received the third prize. In Group ‘B’ Triambak Kapoor stood second and Tanishag Gupta bagged third position. In Group ‘C’ again all the three prizes went to Jodhamal kids. Prableen Singh stood first; Kirti Gaur second and Siya Sharma stood third. In Group ‘D’ First position was bagged by Anjali Jain and in Group ‘F’ third position by Pankhuri Sharma of Jodhamal only. The management and the school Principal Mr. Trilok Singh Bist congratulated the students and teachers Ms. Deepti, Ms. Amanpreet and Ms. Swati for their guidance and support to the students in their pursuit to excellence.

JODHAMAL PUBLIC SCHOOL WHIZ KIDS BRING LAURELS

Dated: 14/03/2013:- In yet another Endeavour to enhance the competitive and educational skill and spirit in the students, Jodhamal School participated in the 12th National Cyber Olympiad (NCO) and 15th National Science Olympiad (NSO), in which as many as 60 students won accolades. a) Gold Medal winner in NSO are Vanayak Gupta, Samragee Mahajan, Sneha Majumdar, Uditi Verma, Daksh Sharma, Prabhnoor Singh, Arya Abrol, Shaan Ul Haque, Navdeep Singh, Akanksha Sharma, Aarushi Rajput, Vishal Sharma and Mridul. Silver Medal winner in NSO are Aahan Vohra, Bhumi Sharma, Suhani Sharma, Samyak, Harman Preet Kour, Abhavya Bhushan, Saharsh Mahajan, Kushagra, Ananya Sharma, Samridhi Sajotra, Naman Chouhan, Romir Patney, Shubham Suri, Anandita Kuthiala, Navneet Kour, Zain Zulfiqar and Eras Sumreen. Bronze Medal winner in NSO are Yashasvee Rathore, Ciya Gupta, Mantek Singh Burn, Tanvi Singh, Suryansh Dev S Pathania, Jasleen Kour, Gaurav Verma, Akshit Gupta, Hasit Singh, Reejuta Mahajan, Titika Balgotra, Ayushi Thakur, Owais Ahmed Rishoo and Sonakshi Thusoo. b) Gold Medal winner in NCO are Vaibhav Singh, Uditi Verma, Daksh Sharma, Manav Kampani, Abhay Singh Kotwal, Navdeep Singh, Anurag Thakur, Manik Sharma and Mridul. Silver Medal winner in NCO are Samyak, Pravar Dalal and Sankalp Verma. Bronze Medal winner in NCO are Shivanshu Tripathy, Amreen Kour, S. Satvik, Jodhamal Fraternity extends heartfelt congratulations to all its medal winner for their remarkable performance in this Olympiad who have upheld the flag of their Alma mater high and will keep strewing for excellence against all odds.

Team Jodhamal Comes back from YCEM Conference from The Doon School, Dehradun

The exchange program of two days 23-24th of April 2013 was set up by TAP- THE ACHIEVERS PROGRAM in The Doon School ,Dehradun to develop a hold and to gather information as to how the schools were working to uplift the green environment and save program. JMPS had been a part an active participant of this exchange program. The Achievers' Programme believe in the saying that "A journey undertaken once, is better than going through a thousand maps". A plantation drive was organized whose aim was to develop in the students a spirit of environmental awareness. A display of works like paintings was done on environmental awareness to make an impact on one and all in order to invoke and inculcate the spirit of awareness to save the Mother earth. This simple exercise helped the children to broaden their awareness in the world they live in and better prepare them for the world they will be working in tomorrow. JMPS’s team of one teacher ( Mrs. Roopinder Kour)and two students(Anandita Kuthiala & Divyansh Suri) proudly announces that work and presentation prepared by them was quite impactful and was appreciated by all present. So they were awarded with mementoes and appreciation certificates for being the best messengers of this noble cause. Special accolades were given to Team Jodhamal for being the best in the Presentation Category. Being with the legacy schools like Lawrence , Assam Valley, The Doon School, The Mayo College Boys & Girls, Welham Boys & Girls , Vidhya Devi Jindal and many more has in letter and spirit enriched the team with lot more that is happening around the globe in its true sense…..

JODHAMAL PARTICIPATES IN INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE AT THE DOON SCHOOL

Dated:- 4th May 2013:Jodhamal Public School participated in The International Youth Conference on Earth and Man organized by “The Achievers Program” held at The Doon School, Dehradun. 28 other leading schools from all over India including Mayo Colleges, Welham, Sanawar, The Doon School, The British School, Vasant Valley School, Shri Ram School participated in the conference.

Team Jodhamal comprised of teacher in charge Ms. Roopinder Kour and student representatives Divyansh Suri and Anandita Kuthiala. This International conference was over two days. All the teams put forward and elaborated upon, what Policies and Plans their respective schools were propagating for maintaining equilibrium between ‘Earth and Man’.

Team Jodhamal made a comprehensive presentation on rainwater harvesting practices on campus and its impacts on ground water table. Also detailed study was presented on The Ozone Layer and depletion of its cover area in a chronological manner. These presentation were appreciated by expert panel including the headmaster of the Doon School, Mr. Peter McLaughlin and Taranvir Singh, the main organizer of TAP-the Achievers’ Program. They mentioned that work and presentation prepared by Team Jodhamal had an impact and was appreciated by all present. They were awarded with mementoes and appreciation certificates for being the best messengers of this noble cause.

National Director IAYP Visits Jodhamal

Jodhamal School is the only YES Centre of IAYP in J & K and the National Operators License was Handed over by the National Director Mr. Kapil Bhalla during the Award Orientation Programme.Today the National Director for the IAYP International Award for young people in India. Mr. Kapil Bhalla, an ex-Dosco from The Doon School Dehradun along with the Programme Manager, Mr. Bivujit Mukhoty, were the guests of honour at the Award Orientation of the IAYP programme in J&K, held at Jodhamal Public School, Jammu proved to be a thumping success. The IAYP programme – an offshoot of the Duke of Edinburg’s Awards for the promotion and provision of Skills and Confidence was the initiative of Mr. Trilok Singh Bist Principal Jodhamal Public Schoolfor its northernmost frontier in India. The award is based on the concept of individual challenge in which young adolescents take the responsibility for their own development through voluntary self help activities. The award will go a long way in developing the interpersonal skills and team spirit of participants in a non-competitive, balanced environment and will give an international dimension to the school curriculum. The Legacy schools like The Doon School, Dehradun, The Welhem Boys Lawrence school, Sanwar & Wood stock Mussoorie to name few are into the awards for a long time now. Ms Simran Singh and Ms. Shallu Sharma, the Award leaders from Jodhamal Public School welcomed the 15 schools of Jammu region along with Army school Akhnoor and Nagrota, G.D. Goenka School, Heritage School, J.P. World School K.C. International, K.V. Bantlab, M.V. International, Model Academy, SOS Hermann School, Sainik School Nagrota and an NGO students with Ms. Sophia. Jodhamal Public School will be the Youth Engaging Society (YES) centre for Jammu under the aegis of National Award Authority. Mr. Nandan Kuthiala, Trustee Jodhamal Public School presided over the function and present on the occasion were Mrs. Arti Kuthiala, Vice-Principal Ms. Rohini Aima , teachers from different schools of Jammu and the CCA Coordinators of Jodhamal Public School.

 

ECO BUDDIES OF JODHAMAL HOLD WASTE RECYLING WORKSHOP

Jammu, July 23, 2012:- In keeping with its policy of developing environmentally aware students The Eco Buddies Club of Jodhamal School held a three day workshop on Architectural structures (domes) to be made from recycled and waste materials.

The Eco Buddies proved to be receptive and creative and came up with aesthetically beautiful structures all from waste materials. It was a valuable lesson the impact that we all have on the environment and how in our own small way we can help in stopping the destruction of our beautiful planet. Assistant Professor Mr. V. K. Dogra from Shri Mata Vaishnodevi University presided over the workshop under the supervision of the Principal Mr. Trilok Singh Bist. The event was managed by Ms. Rupinder with the help of Mr. Vishal and Mr. Sourav.

Mr. Dogra in his concluding speech said that it had been a privilege for him to work with such an attentive and responsive group and that it gave him pleasure to see such Jhampions who were going to be a part of the development of this country's future.

The workshop ended with a round of felicitations on part of the Principal and the Trustee Mr. Nandan Kuthiala. It was hoped that such workshop should continue in the future so as to contribute to the overall development of the children in understanding the ecology, diversity, sustainability and preservation of our planet.

RIMC SELECTS JODHAMAL SCHOOL STUDENT

Jammu, July 18, 2012:- Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC) Dehradun has selected Akshat Sharma of class-VIII of Jodhamal School as its 2012 candidates from J&K. RIMC is the Pre-Eminent and most Prestigious Armed Forces School in the country and is more than 80 years old. Only one candidate per state is selected every year in RIMC.

Mr. Trilok Singh Bist Principal Jodhamal School felicitated Akshat Sharma in Special Assembly and wished him the very best for future. He also appreciated the teachers for the hard work they have put in all these years to make Jodhamal Public School shine like a star not only in J & K but in the National platform.

Life skills workshop for Teachers Concludes

Jammu, July 14, 2012:- [The three days Life-Skills Workshop at Jodhamal School for the nation-builders at Jodhamal Public School which had commenced on Thursday, 12th July, 2012 concluded on Saturday, July 14, 2012.

The workshop which was conducted by an esteemed trainer, based in New Delhi and working with leading corporate of the country Mr. Amitabh Garg proved to be an innovative and well received activity, by the mentors of JMPS, Jammu.

The concluding session was based on Stress Management which, of late has become a bane for the general society, at large. The student community which has been under undue stress owing to the increased expectation and peer pressure will be greatly benefitted by this initiative of the Management of the school, especially Mr. Trilok Singh Bist, Principal of Jodhamal Public School.

The highlight of the three day workshop was Activity based learning and the enthusiastic participation by the teachers, who were quite candid in their feedback of the program and asserted that they had been able to discover a new self during the course of the workshop.

The program concluded with the presentation of a memento to the resource person by honourable Sh. Nandan Kuthiala, the trustee of the school.

In his speech the resource person showered his sincere praise for the organizers and the participating teachers wherein he reiterated, "I am amazed to inter-act with such an enthusiastic team of teachers who could compete with the team of any reputed Public School of the country and who have a tremendous zeal to shape the future of their students in achieving glorious heights in their life."

A THREE DAY LONG WORKSHOP STARTED AT JODHAMAL SCHOOL

Jammu, July 12, 2012:- [Mr. Amitabh Garg on Educationist and Life-Skill trainer from Dehradun as Resource Person].

Jodhamal Public School Kick started the new term with a 3 day workshop for the teachers to hone up- their skills as teachers.

Workshop started with a welcome address by the Principal and lighting of inaugural Lamp by the resource person Mr. Amitabh Garg from Dehradun, Principal and trustee Mr. Nandan Kuthiala. Mr. Amitabh Garg has 25 years of experience in the teaching and training the teachers of different CBSE, ICSCE and State Boards and is also in the panel of GMVN, ONGC, WIPRO and so on.

Today in the first session he trained the teachers as to how introduce themselves and their peer groups. He also had games for teachers to know themselves in and out where he very diplomatically conveyed to the teachers the do's and don't of the teaching profession.Speaking during the workshop he said that teachers are the nation builders and money should not be the ultimate priority of a teacher. A teacher should always be in his best whether paid more or less, teaching elite class students or slum students or in a nut shell he said he who discriminates among the students on the  basis of caste, creed, colour of skin or social status of parents, should immediately leave this noble profession.

Teachers were asked to add one adjective to their name and later a word which people used for them and they never liked it. Indirect message was, do we also use such hurting words to a students?

Towards the close of the workshop on day 1 principal Jodhamal Public School Mr. Trilok Singh Bist said that it is not the bookish knowledge which is actually retained after few years, it is only the values, confidence and the way we as teachers carry ourselves is retained by our students, hence a great responsibility lies on our shoulders and such workshops for school teachers are a must to ignite the teaching community to work towards their goals.

Among the august gathering were Mrs. Aarti Kuthiala, Mrs. Rohini Aima, Mr. Nandan Kuthiala, Principal Trilok Singh Bist, all coordinators and 136 teachers of Jodhamal Public School.

Jodhamal Goes Global, Opens First "YES" Centre

Jammu, May, 31:-In yet another milestone, Jodhamal Public School today launched the globally acclaimed youth empowerment "The International Award For Young People in India (IAYP)" in J & K and parts of Punjab & Himachal Pradesh.

The Youth Engaging Society (YES) centre became operational in Jodhamal Public School premises; this centre is a member of "The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award Association" based in London. YES centres are also operational in famous schools like The Doon School, Welham School, The Lawrence School, Sanawar, The Assam Valley school etc. in India and many top ranked schools in around 130 countries. Institution of this centre gives Jodhamal Public School a unique global linkage.

Three levels of awards Gold, Silver & Bronze are awarded by "The Duke of Edinburgh's Foundation" based in London. Three teachers from Jodhamal Public School would be going to The Doon School & Daly College in June for further training under this scheme.

The Chief Guest of the inaugural function was Dr. Chander Mohan Seth, the WWF (J & K) Chairperson. The Principal Mr. Trilok Singh Bist who has been associated with IAYP for more than a decade explained the ethos & concepts of the programme, which is to reward the students for serving the community. He maintained that the centre would develop resources and encourages the participants to register for taking part in the award programme. "Centre would provide the participants with adult leaders to track progress of "YES" centre participants. "YES" centres are open centres and do not have geographical limitations. So, young should not miss the bus which has arrived in their town", Mr. Bist disclosed.

He went on to add "the basic structure of award consists of four mandatory sections which include service, adventurous journey, skills and physical recreation. Besides this, there are three levels of award- Bronze (for those over 14), Silver (for those over 15) and Gold (for those over 16). In fact Mr. Bist wants to introduce service learning concept which connects classroom studies with community service and it can be a part of IAYP.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest Dr. Chander Mohan Seth (Retd. IFS), who is Chairperson of Jammu Chapter of World Wide Fund (WWF) applauded the school authorities for launching such an innovative programme in Jammu City. He said "Jodhamal has many firsts to its credit but 'YES' centre is unique of them all. It is what I can understand community service. Our response should be heartwarming and we should engage ourselves in this community service initiative as a part of IAYP.

Guest of honour Mr. Nandan Kuthiala gave an account of school's desire to bring innovation in the learning process of children. He congratulated the school students for having an opportunity to excel on the international arena. The programme concluded with a Dogri Song presented by the students of class 5th and 6th.

JODHAMAL SCHOOL HOLDS INVESTURE CEREMONY AND RELEASE OF ANNUAL SCHOOL MAGZINE "ENDEAVOUR"…!

Jammu, May, 23:- Bringing a warm glow that brought forth a solemn promise for the student populace of Jodhamal School. The sun rose through the cool firmament of dawn.

23 May 2012 was the day of the school's Investiture Ceremony. The day was inaugurated by a promise of a brighter future as the new prefects got ready to be invested. The ceremony commenced in the school premises.

The bugle call announced the arrival of the Chief Guest IG Farooq Khan, and Guest of Honour DIG Mr. J.P. Singh. The school contingent, assembled majestically at the centre of the OAT and gave the chief guest a general salute. It was feast for the senses of The members of the new Prefect Council assembled in a contingent. The school choir sang the school song and the school prayer song. The most anxiously-awaited moment, the oath-taking ceremony, was performed by the prefects who were administered their oath of office by the Principal Mr. T. S. Bist in which they were asked to promise that they would carry out their duties with integrity, faith and excellence. After the oath – taking ceremony the prefects were given their sashes and badges by our chief guest and the guest of honour. At the end of the ceremony respected Principal of the school Mr. Trilok Singh Bist address the staff and the students followed by an inspiring speech by our chief guest who praised Jodhamal School for such high standards of discipline and said that he is happy to see the school committed to give better citizens to the world. His speech aroused inspiration and motivation in the hearts of the newly-invested prefects and fired in them an enthusiasm to take up their responsibilities. Along with that he highlighted the facts about the current political and economic situation of India. Guest of Honour DIG inspired the atheriny by his enlightening speech and he too appreciated the discipline and aura of the school.

The chief guest and guest of honour unveiled the Annual school magazine "ENDEAVOUR", which brings forth the creativity of the students. In the end, the vote of thanks was proposed by the Ms. Nandani Bakshi and then the graceful occasion came to a close. Present on the occasion were school trustee Mr. Nandan Kuthiala, Mrs. Rohini Aima, coordinators, teachers and students of Jodhamal School.

Jodhamal Public School Celebrated Earth Day on April 30, 2012.

The Green Warriors of Jodhamal Eco Club joined hands together to be the seeds of spring to this great nation and conducted a special assembly commemorating the preservation of the environment. Principal Mr. Trilok Singh Bist was also presented a green badge by the green warriors with the Eco Club Incharges Ms. Rupinder & Mrs. Aima . The Head Boy Abhayjeet Singh administered the Green Oath for the whole school and the event included self composed poems by the Green Warriors. Speaking on the occasion Principal Mr. Trilok Singh Bist said that the Eco Buddies named as Green Warriors of JMPS are the seeds of Spring and have a lot in store to work for a greener Planet Earth. Finally two saplings were planted by the Principal & Vice Principal to mark the occasion. Jodhamal Public School is committed to keep the Planet Earth Clean & Green and in their endeavor school has plans to clean river Tavi from all trash including polythene in the phased manner for which the Principal Mr. Trilok Singh Bist has appealed to the Green Warriors to take lead. JAMPIAN'S TAKE NDTV GREEN PLEDGE

Jammu, May, 15:- As a part of the NDTV’s initiative for a better environment, “Greenathon’ was organized by the students of Jodhamal Public School. On 14th May’2012 under the stewardship of their Principal Mr. Trilok Singh Bist.

The students were administered oath by the head boy Mr. Abhayjeet for Greener and cleaner tomorrow. Head girl Ms. Sankasha explained the concept of rain water harnessing and how the school reuses the water discharged from school swimming pool filter, into underground dry tanks which is subsequently used in play grounds, paint etc to the NDTV representatives.

Banners bearing messages to save the environment were also part of today’s ‘Greenathon drive’ green warrior of Jodhamal School under their Eco-club in charge Ms. Rohini Aima and Ms. Rupinder Kour took a group of 53 students to the bank of Tawi River as a part of the anti-polythene drive. Principal, A.O. T.O., and Mr. Bunty Sharma also accompanied them with the NDTV team.

The student’s message of Reuse, Reduce and Recycle was appreciated by the people of Jammu.

The drive for a greener tomorrow was initiated by NDTV team headed by Mr. Sheikh Zaffar Iqbal under the guidance of Jodhamal School’s Principal Mr. Trilok Singh Bist, assisted by Mr. Darshan Kumar Khajuria and S. Ravinder Singh from NDTV.

Jammu, May, 12:- Innocence, intellect and creativity were on full display as toddlers of Jodhamal School took stage to celebrate "Mother's Day".
The tender buds of Jodhamal School went yards ahead of their age to acknowledge contribution of "Mothers" in their upbringing. The programme began with the traditional lightning of the lamp by the Chief Guest Mrs. Susham Kuthiala and Principal of the school Mr. Trilok Singh Bist. Presence of school management seemingly served as catalyst for the young toddlers to leave audiences spellbound with their performance. Tender buds of class-1st and 2nd exhibited highest degree of discipline while performing on-stage.
They danced merrily, sang songs in the praise of motherhood and thanked the lord for giving them good mothers. The voice of innocence was applauded by one and all. Management recognized the effectiveness of mothers in enhancing creative abilities of their children by giving them gifts. Welcome speech was delivered by Junior Primary wing coordinator Mrs. Urmila Koul. She appreciated performance of toddlers. Chief Guest applauded the toddlers and credited both mothers and staff of the school for enriching children of even class I and II with values and knowledge of gratitude towards mothers. Speaking on the occasion Principal Trilok Singh Bist stressed for further fine-tuning of young toddlers and implored upon mothers to act as catalysts of change. He ensured each mother that Jodhamal School is all set to enthuse and imbibe the values in these youngsters to give the country the best citizens in the future. He appreciated the efforts of the teachers and gave them a well done pat with anticipation that they will always give their hundred percent to Jodhamal.

 

JODHAMAL BAGS TOP POSITIONS IN SCIENCE OLMPIAD

Once again the JMPians bring Laurrels to Jodhamal Public School by proving their mettle by bagging top positions in the Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) Exams in 2012. Jodhamal Public School participated in all the three second level Science Olympiad Foundation Exams in 2012 Prabhnoor Singh, a student of class-V was the outstanding achiever who bagged state Rank-Second, third in International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO), National Science Olympiad (NSO) and National Cyber Olympiad (NCO) respectively.

JODHAMAL SCHOOL HOSTS AUDITIONS FOR ZEE TV'S DANCE INDIA DANCE

Dated- 09/03/2012:- To support and give platform to young dancing talent of Jammu Jodhamal Public School proudly hosted the auditions of Dance India Dance little Master Season- II in association with Zee TV.

The young budding dancers of Jammu & Kashmir, Pubjab & Himachal Pradesh enthralled the Judges Mr. Rohan Jacob and Ms. Sonal Yadav who judged the Level-1 of the competition.

Level-2 was judged by Mr. Ranjit Thakur, who is the Creative Head of Zee TV. More than 300 young dancers were participated in this prestigious event with keen interest. The entire event was managed by Mr. Anil Garg and Supervised by Mr. Naeem Akhtar.

SaMaPa ENTHRALLS THE STUDENTS & STAFF OF JODHAMAL SCHOOL

Dated: 08/02/2012:- Renowned Santoor player and music composes Abhay Rustam Sopori enthralled the audience here at Jodhamal Public School with his presence as a part of the ongoing Sa Ma Pa festival. On the occasion, Vidushi Uma Garg, a renowned classical vocalist enchanted the young music lovers of Jodhamal family with her vocal recitals. She was accompanied by Sh. Sarit Das on Tabla, Abid Hussain on Sarangi and Sajjad Ahmed on Harmonium.

The Chief Guest for day was Minister of State for Home Mr. M. A. Wani. The function was attended by Pandit Vijay Shanker Mishra, Trustee of Jodhamal Public School Mr. Vikrant Kuthiala and Mr. Nandan Kuthiala. Vidushi Uma Garg and Abhay Sopori Ji interacted with the students and the spoke about the traditional Heritage and Soffiana and Classical Music.

Principal Mrs. Krishna Bhati in her welcome address appreciated the initiative taken by Sa Ma Pa group for enlightening the young generation of today with the nuances of singing and wanted young mind of today to enjoy and live the precious moments.

JODHAMAL SCHOOL CELEBRATES 63RD REPUBLIC DAY WITH PATRIOTIC FERVOUR

A special programme was organized on the occasion of 63rd Republic Day. Lt. Col. S. B. Singh was the Chief Guest. The Chief Guest hoisted the flag and after witnessing the march past by the students of the four houses and young contingents of boy scouts and girl guides declared the results for the overall champions trophy which was bagged by Challenge House. Chief Guest complimented and appreciated the spirit of the students and exhorted them to do their best for the country.

Cultural dances, songs and tableaux were the highlights of the day. The Principal, Vice Principal and Dean also spoke on the occasion and wished students on the eve of 63rd Republic Day.

JODHAMAL STUDENTS WIN 14 MEDALS IN THE 4TH STATE ROLL BALL CHAMPIONSHIP

Jodhamal Public School students won laurels in the 4th State Roll Ball Championship organized by J & K Roll Ball Association at G. D. Goenka Public School. In the championship, about 20 students participated and exhibited their talents in various events. On the valedictory function 11 of our students were among the winners of various events.

Faizan Choudhary won silver in the Roll Ball. In the speed events, Archie Gupta won two gold, Nandita Mehta won two silver, Shivay Mahajan won two gold, Nalin Kamal won two bronze, Zitin Koul won two bronze, Drishant Mahajan and Aditya Dev Singh won bronze, Nandini Mehta won silver in speed. Ananya Singh and Nikunj were awarded consolation prizes. Stusents were guided by Mr. Kamal Anand & Mr. Rajiv Kalotra. Management and Principal complemented the winners and wished.

STUDENTS OF JODHAMAL PUBLIC SCHOOL CELEBRATED CHRISTMAS

Christmas was celebrated in Jodhamal Public School on 23rd Dec. 2011 with great fervour which brought lots of fun and good wishes for the new year. The students were held captive with the performance of little ones playing various characters from the life of Jesus. The audience was enthralled to see so many fairies and Santa Clause around them distributing sweets. To add to the spirit of Christmas, carols were sung by the teachers. The students welcomed the year 2012 by singing and dancing on "Jingle Bells" tunes.

JODHAMAL SCHOOL CELEBRATES 7TH "ANNUAL DAY

Jodhamal Public School, Jammu celebrated its 7th Annual Day-Cheerio Carnival on 11th Dec., 2011 where the talented students of the school gave enthralling performance, which were a treat for the parents and the chief guests.

The guests were welcomed by Mrs. Krishna Bhati (Principal) Jodhamal School & Mr. Nandan Kuthiala (Trustee). Sh. Raman Bhalla Hon’ble Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation was the chief guest. Other dignitaries present on the occasion were Mrs. D. R. Doley Barman (ADGP), Dr. B. Srinivas (IGP), Sh. Garib Dass (DIG), Sh. Rajesh Kumar (DIG), Sh. Tsering Phunsog (DIG) & Sh. Anurag Kumar (DIG) on the occasion.

The carnival kicked off with a rocking and foot tapping performance by our schools very own Rockband - “the ROCKSTERS” who had everybody swaying to the beats of various happening songs. This was followed by a traditional Indian musical extravaganza performed by the talented Orchestra Group of Jodhamal Public School. The next performance in line was the “Krishna Lila” by students of class 6thand 7 th, that left the audience spell bound with its extraordinary feats and formations.

Ms. Krishna Bhati, Principal said that over the years, the school has reached new heights and given its students many opportunities to grow and applauded the efforts put in by the staff and children. The Vice Principal Ms. Rohini Aima presented the annual sports report, followed by Ms. Monika Sethi the dean of the school who gave the yearly account of the students excellent academic performance and achievements. Scholarships were awarded to the meritorious students Mrs. Jyoti Nanda, Junior wing coordinator and Mrs. Urmila Koul presented the annual academic report of the primary wing.

The senior wing CCA coordinator, Ms. Nandani Bakshi and Junior wing coordinator’s Mrs. Ranju Malhotra spoke about the advantages of CCE scheme, which aims at a replacement to the traditional examination system has aimed at identifying and nurturing the hidden talent of the students and their achievements in extracurricular.

The Chief Guest declared open the - Cherrio Carnival. Students of class 5 and 6 performed ethnic and energetic Spanish dance – Flamenco The tiny tots of class 1st and 2nd reflected immense joy and festivity in their dances like salsa, box dance, umbrella dance, circus carnival etc. The middle wing classes – 8th, 9th, 10th transported the audience to Brazil with their ethnic Brazilian dance. This was followed by an “Award Ceremony” where *Invention* was adjourned as the Best House in Academics, *Discovery* won the Best House in CCA, * Challenge* got the sports trophy. The Champions Trophy (Junior) went to *Enterprise House* & the Champion Trophy (Senior) went to *Discovery House.*

The carnival all in all proved to be a huge success. The immense talent of the students was duly appreciated by the chief guests. Mr. Raman Bhalla in his address to the parents, students and management of JMPS, extolled the schools efforts to nurture students with value based education. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks presented by Sh. Vikrant Kuthiala followed by the National Anthem.

JODHAMAL STUDENTS WIN 10 MEDALS IN THE 10TH STATE MATSOGI-DO CHAMPIONSHIP

The Students of Jodhamal Public School brought laurels to the school in the just concluded 10th State Matsogi-Do Championship held at Unique Public Hr. Sec. School Gadi Garh. The students won 3 gold, 3 silver and 4 bronze medals in the 10th State Matsogi-Do Championship held recently. The gold medal winners are:- Anirudh, Vasudev Gupta and Akshit Sharma. The silver medal winners are:- Avichal Rampal, Jatin Mahajan and Ashita Arora. Bronze medal winners are:- Mohit, Akshat, Jotirmay and Aryan Verma. JODHAMAL SCHOOL WINS JASC 13TH ANNUAL DEBATE

The 13th Annual Interschool Debate Competition conducted by the Jammu Adventure Sports Club was held at JMPS, Channi Himmat, Jammu on 26th Nov. 2011. The motion for the debate was "Internet Brings More Harm Than Good". 24 participants from over 12 leading schools took part in the lively session.

Chief Guest for the day was Mr. Saurabh Bhagat, (IAS) Director Technical Education. The guest of honour was Mrs. Krishna Bhati Principal Jodhamal School. The members of Jury were Prof. Veena Gupta, Prof. Sneh Sambyal & Prof. Sarla Kohli. The convenor of the Debating Committee was Mr. Sarla Kohli. Mr. Sandeep Gulati, Chairman JASC in his welcome speech gave the history of the club whose aims are to encourage sports and to promote Cultural Heritage. Junior members of the Adventure Club also spoke on the Occasion. Vote of the thanks was given by Mr. Sandeep Sethi, Secretary of JASC.

Certificates of participation to all the participants were given by Vice Chairman of JASC. The Rolling Trophy Donated by R. B. Jodhamal & Co. was bagged by JODHAMAL PUBLIC SCHOOL. The 1st, 2nd & 3rd prizes sponsored by National Garage were won by Sankasha Sharma of Jodhamal School stood 1st, Ishrat Jahan of Presentation Convent School stood 2nd & Shantanu Mishra of Army Public School Nagrota stood 3rd. The debate was compared by Mrs. Aparna Kuthiala member of the club. Jodhamal Public School was the overall trophy of the debate.

JODHAMAL STUDENT TO REPRESENT INDIA IN FRANCE

Student of Jodhamal Public School Uditi Verma, D/o Mrs. Madhu Luthra & Mr. Anant Kumar of Class – 3rd has been selected by the Indian Sport Speedball Association for the 25th world Speedball Championship – 2011 which is being held in POITIERS (FRANCE) from 27th October to 30th October, 2011.
The Principal Mrs. Krishna Bhati congratulated Uditi Verma & hoped that she will bring glory to the country.

JODHAMAL SCHOOL UNVELLS COMMEMORATION STAMP

On the occasion of Children’s Day Jodhamal Public School organized the event of commemoration the Postal Stamp in the school premises. Mr. Samuel Johnson, Chief Post Master General J&K was the Chief Guest and some other dignitaries from the Postal Deptt. also graced the occasion. The stamps of Rs.5 and Rs.20 denominations were released. In addition the department also presented a souvenir sheet of stamps to the school.
Principal Mrs. Krishna Bhati welcomed the delegates of the Postal Department and lauded the immense contribution of the department in the field of art, literature, science and social work. She also anecdotally mentioned the depiction of the Indian ‘dakiya’ in cinema, paintings and sculpture throughout history.
Mr. John Samuel speaking on the occasion briefed about the activities of the department in connecting with the people of J&K. The children were treated to rare insights of the world of postage and to a glimpse of Mr. John Samuel’s achievements and experience. He shared certain facts and trivia with the children which delighted them.
The Philately Club of JMPS also was inaugurated by Mr. John Samuel. He was extremely happy and also took the opportunity to appreciate the initiative taken by the school and also announced the assigning of all sorts of stamps to the school. The students were delighted to attend the function with such wonderful exposure to postal stamps and of being a part in the release of the postal stamp for the first time in
Jammu.
The school Management greeted the students on the occasion of Children’s Day and the release of the postage stamps in the school premises.

JODHAMAL SCHOOL WINS INTER SCHOOL QUIZ

Students of Jodhamal Public School brought laurels to the school by winning the prestigious "Bharat Ko Jano" – Quiz Competition organized by Bharat Vikas Parishad at Naveen Shiksha Kendra School, Channi Himmat today. Two teams comprising of two students each i.e. Junior level – Ananya Sharma & Abhijit Kumar & Senior level – Jaspreet Kour & Mridhu Sharma bagged the Ist prize each in both the Junior & Senior categories. The Principal and the Management of the school congratulated the students and the staff members for their hard-work and sincere efforts to achieve this landmark victory.

STUDENTS OF JODHAMAL BRING LAURELS TO SCHOOL IN PANDIT UMA DUTT SANGEET MAHOTSAV

Students won prizes in different categories in Pandit Uma Dutt Sangeet Mahotsav at Police Auditorium. Students of Jodhamal Public School bagged prizes in various categories. Aditya Narain and Nandini Kapoor won 2nd and 3rd prize in Light Singing (Junior). Casio group stood 1st and Guitar group of Jodhamal Public School stood 2nd in Group Instrumental (Junior). And in Group Instrumental (Senior) Jodhamal Guitar (Senior) group was the 1st Prize winner.

JODHAMAL SCHOOL HOSTS LIMCA BOOK OF RECORDS QUIZ, 2011

Jodhamal Public School hosted the Limca Book of Record Quiz 2011 in association with Derek O' Brien & Associates in the school Amphitheatre today. Nearly 230 participants from a total of 37 schools from the Jammu region actively participated in the Quiz. The six schools that qualified the preliminary written round were Army Public School Janglote, Army Public School Akhnoor, Army Public School Akhnoor, K. C. International School, Model Academy & DPS Jammu.

K. C. International Jammu was the winner of the Limca Book of Records Quiz 2011. Army Public School Janglote bagged the second position followed by Army Public School Akhnoor at the third position. Mrs. Krishna Bhati, Principal JMPS, was the Chief Guest & awarded the winning team & appreciated the initiative taken by Limca Book of records towards the pursuit of knowledge in on entertaining yet Mr. Sarabjeet Singh Gujral, HR Manager, Coca Cola was the Guest of Honour of the Occasion.

JODHAMAL SCHOOL HOSTS SCOUTS AND GUIDES "PRAVESH CAMP"

Dated: 25th Oct. 2011:- Scouts and Guides "PRAVESH CAMP" was conducted by Dr. Gurcharan Singh (State HQ Commissioner) and Smt. Bimla Handoo (DOC) (G) recently in the school premises. The Camp was declared open by:- Principal, Mrs. Krishna Bhati the Pravesh Camp which is the step towards making the future more responsible citizens of our country was pioneered at Jodhamal Public School with utmost dedication. 91 Scouts and Guides were enlightened with the origin, law, motto, salute, sigh, prayer, songs etc related to Bharat Scouts and Guides.

They were overjoyed to learn the yells and were amazed to experience the spectrum of activities. The cubs and Bulbuls were equally enthusiastic about their role and their respective activities. Vote of thanks was given by the Vice Principal, Mrs. Rohini Aima and the school representatives were – Mrs. Simran Singh (Rajya Puruskar), Mrs. Kusum Abrol (NCC 'C' Certificate), Miss. Jyoti Chwdhary (BP Ed.), Mr. Rajiv Kalotra (PT Instructor).

The children felt proud to be part of such a prestigious organization and pledged to make a difference and bring about the winds of changein whatever little way they can.

JODHAMAL STUDENTS EXCELLED IN THE CBSE CLUSTERS;

Dated: 21st October, 2011:- 17 Athletes of Jodhamal Public School participated in CBSE cluster XIII Athletic Meet held in Chandigarh.They took part in various events like long jumps, 100 m, 200 m, 400 m,4X100 relay Discus throw & Brought laurels to the school, their parents and for themselves.

Mehak Pandita won gold in long jump and bronze in 100 m.

The other students who participated in the CBSE cluster were Rashika,Falaq Sheikh, Sana Fatima, Tanpreet Kour, Jessica Bal, Shaheen Fatima,Samiksha Thusoo, Sheveta Balgotra, Sheikh Aquib, Arjun Sharma, Navjot Randhawa, Sukhdeep Singh, Sparsh Singh Kotwal, Akshay Mahajan and Ullas Mahajan.

Principal Mrs. Krishna Bhati complemented the students along with the coach Mr. Kuldeep and Ms. Sheetal for excellent performance. She wished them for a bright future ahead.

INAUGURATION OF SATELLITE BASED "EDUCOMP LIVE" IN JODHAMAL SCHOOL

The Chief Guest for the day was Air Commodore Nitin Sathe, Air Officer Commanding (AOC), Air Force Station Jammu. He formally inaugurated Educomp Live in the school premises by pressing the remote for the live show and the Educomp representative presented Manual to the Chief Guests.

A live demonstration by Ms. Usha Albuquerque a renowned career counseling expert in India and Dr. Sanjeev Verma – an expert in Vedic Maths were the premier features of today's programme. The students also had interactive session with Mr. Harish Raina the Regional Manager of J&K Educomp Live who enlightened the students about the smart class Modules that could help students both in academics and in CCE curriculum.

The Chief Guest, Air Commodore Sathe congratulated the school and asked the students to pursue good human values along with the use of technology. He also lauded the school's initiative in opening newer frontiers of technology in class room teaching. The Principal of the school Mrs. Krishna Bhati also encouraged the students to make use of the smart class Modules to enhance their learning ability.

DUSHERA CELEBRATED WITH GREAT FERVOUR IN JHODHAMAL SCHOOL

Dated: 4th Oct., 2011: Primary students of Jodhamal Public School organized a special assembly on 4th October to mark the celebration of Dushehra in the school campus, which included narration of mythological tales in the form of "RAMLILA". The highlights of symbolic Ravanana's effigy were ten faces of Ravana enactment and the symbolic burning of effigy of RAVANA depicting ten evils of the present times e.g. Terrorism, corruption, drug addiction poverty, child labour, deforestation, pollution showing the triumph of good over evil. It also made children learn about Indian mythology and importance of the festival.

The students were then addressed by the Principal and the Vice Principal who highlighted the significance of this festival and addressed to the students to fight for the eradication of evils of the present times.

JODHAMAL SCHOOL WINS BHARAT VIKAS PARISHAD COMPETITION

Shivalik Branch Channi Himmat Bharat Vikash Parishad organized a national Group Song Competition at ASN Hr. Sec. School Channi Himmat on Saturday 1st October, 2011.

Mr. Sanjeev Verma (IAS), Division Commissioner Jammu was the Chief Guest and  Mr.  Soujanya Shama (KAS), Joint Director Deptt. of Information, Mr. Javed A. Khativ, Joint Secretary J&K State Board of School Education & Mr. Randeep Kumar, Deputy Commandant IRP 13 Battalion, Jammu were the eminent guests. Children wearing colourful dresses of various school presented patriotic songs in Sanskrit and Hindi.

The team of Jodhamal Public School won the First Prize in the Sanskrit Group Song and Second in the Hindi Group Song. The team members were Nandini Kapoor, Jasmine, Adita Narain, Ayush Pandita, Harsimran, Ishwin, Ankita, Vishamesh and Ananya.

Last year Jodhamal School won the North Zone and Cultural Zone Competition of Bharat Vikas Parishad National Group song competition held at Bhubaneshwar (Orisa).

This time Jodhamal Public School sent forth a very young team with students from class 6th to class 10th who got trained under the able guidance of Composer Mr. Sunil Sharma, Dholak Mr. Kamal Sharma & Tabla Mr. Vijay Anand.

GRAND PARENTS" CELEBRATION OF JODHAMAL JUNIOR'S

Jodhamal Public Schools celebrated it’s “Grandparents Day” in the school premises on 24th Sep., 2011.

The programme started with lighting of the lamp & a Welcome Address by the Principal, Mrs. Krishna Bhati.

The little angels put up a variety of cultural bonanza for their grand parents with great zeal and enthusiasm. The day’s programme was multicultural, thus splashing the Jodhamal School preprimary canvas with its unique variety of colours.

The aim of organizing such programme is to inculcate high moral values and respect for grandparents & senior citizens among the students. The Grandparents enthusiastically participated in all the events and games. The also shared their views on the role of Grandparents in the grooming and upbringing of children.

They enjoyed the performance of the tiny tots and appreciated the efforts of the management and the staff to organize such a show & wished to participate in more such occasions.

The Grandparents Day proved to be a good occasion to cement this family bond. It also gave the grand parents a chance to be familiar with the school culture & ethos and importance of their role in supporting them child’s formative years of development during the child’s school days.

JODHAMAL SCHOOL WINS INTER-SCHOOL DEBATE AT CARMEL

Inter-school-debate competition was held at Carmel Convent School, Kunjwani on 13 Spet. 2011. As many as 14 leading schools of the city took part in the debate. The Motion for the debate was: “Is the girl child in India safe today”.
The debating team from Jodhamal School included Akanksha Sharma Class VIII, who stood for the motion and Aparna Dhar of Class X who debated against the motion. The rebuttal session too was a success with Shivang Abrol of Class X being acknowledged as the student with the best Rebuttal Questions.

The first prize was won by Akanksha Sharma and the second prize went to Aparna Dhar. Jodhamal School was appreciated for its spectacular performance and felicitated with trophies. The children gave the credit to their principal and teachers for encouraging them.

JODHAMAL STUDENTS WIN 31 MEDALS IN THE 2 DAYS DISTRICT JAMMU WU-SHU CHAMPIONSHIP

The Students of Jodhamal Public School brought laurels to the school in the just concluded District Jammu Wu-Shu Championship held at M.A. Stadium Indore Complex.
The students won 7 gold, 11 silver and 13 bronze medals in the District Jammu Wu-Shu Championship held recently.
The gold medal winners are:-
Sharthi, Avni Langer, Akarshan Bakshi, Anant Aggarwal, Nitish Narain, Abhjeet Singh and Aryan Katal.
The silver medal winners are:-
Prisha Candook, Sahil Atri, Ahmed Ziya, Kumar Vasisth, Pratham, Nita Bhagat, Jai Vardhan Sharma, Shivansh Sharma, Anmol Sharma, Aush Sawhney and Hameen Rathore.

JODHAMAL SCHOOL WINS JSSC INTER SCHOOL COMPETITION

In keeping with its tradition of wholesome development of the child, Jodhamal School conducted an inter school character enactment competition on 27th August in its premises. 16 leading CBSE Sahodaya Cluster Schools of Jammu took part in the Competition. The programme was presided over by the Chief Guest Mr. KCS Mehta who is President of“Jammu Sahodaya Schools Complex”. The Judges were Prof. Sarla Kohli, Mr. Navin Chopra, Mr. Sumeet Sharma.

The Competition show cased acting abilities of the students. With in-depth characterization of various literary figures like Lady Macbeth, Juliet or Mark Antony, the performers enthralled the audience. Marvellous portrayals of figures such as Mahatma Gandhi, Anna Hazara, Subash Chander Bose, Napoleon and Hitler were also done as were the mythological figures such as Draupadi, Hanuman Ji and Lord Krishna. One could feel the energy and passion of each contestant shimmer through the open air theatre. The effort of the participants was obvious in their detailed costumes, stylish gowns and make-up. Schools that participated were SOS Herman, Presentation, MHAC Nagbani, K.C. Public, Heritage, J.K. Public, DPS Jammu, BSF Palora, Army Schools Akhnoor, B.D. Bari, Domana, Nagrota, Air Force School and Jodhamal Public School.

The Chief Guest, Mr. KCS Mehta in his speech applauded JMPS Principal, staff and students for their initiative and encouraged the students for discovering their talents. He spoke about the performing arts being the pivotal education on which the personality of a student could be shaped.
Mrs. Krishna Bhati, Principal Jodhamal School appreciated the participating schools. Jodhamal School won the overall Trophy in the Junior Category and Presentation Convent won the overall Trophy in the Senior Category.

INTACH CLUB LAUNCHED IN JODHAMAL SCHOOL

Dated 30/07/2011:- In yet another milestone Jodhamal Public School has become the first school in Jammu to introduce the prestigious Young INTACH Club. INTACH is the largest non-profit organization which is dedicated to conservation and sustainability under the purview of Archeological Survey of India. This club sensitizes the public through festivals, exhibitions, heritage walks and cultural shows. INTACH is already doing extensive restoration work in Jammu at Chotti Deodi and Baddi Deodi in Mubarak Mandi. It has also successfully restored the Darbar Hall popularly known as the Grey Hall, a property of the erstwhile rulers of Jammu.
The students of Jodhamal Public School had a very informative and interactive session with the distinguished guests from the Jammu Chapter Mr. S. Sahni, convenor and Mr. H. C. Katoch, an eminent life member who enlightened the students about the rich heritage of the city and the tasks undertaken by INTACH.
The Principal of the school, Mrs. Krishna Bhati in her address felicitated the young INTACH members of her school and encouraged them to contribute to the conservation of the country’s incredible past. The students were presented with badges bearing INTACH Logo and special INTACH Passports and notepads. The launching of this new club in Jodhamal has created a sense of great excitement among Jodhamal students who are all set to join hands with the Jammu INTACH Chapter and take care of the Heritage monuments in the city.

OASIS SUMMER CAMP CONCLUDES AT JODHAMAL PUBLIC SCHOOL

Two weeks long “OASIS SUMMER CAMP” was concluded on 17th June’ 2011 at Jodhamal Public School. The event created a buzz among the students. It made the vacation time of children memorable, filled with pleasant and joyful activities and at the same time a learning experience too. To bring the summer camp to a happy end, Grand Finale was held up at the school premises.

The Chief Guest for the occasion was Mr. Sumeet – The famous Theatre Personality. The closing ceremony included demonstrations in swimming, Taekwondo, Aerobics and Yoga etc. The Art and Craft department displayed their food craft and various things made of waste products.

The stage presentation included Goan Folk Dance, Classical Dance, Hip Hop and Disco Dance by troupes of dancers. Display of Orchestra Band, Taekwondo and Dramatical representation of a group of students in personality development were the key aspects of the Summer Camp. Different Ragas and Alaps sung by the students of vocal music stole the hearts of the audience. Aerobics – a musical way to fitness was presented by a group of students. Little chefs of Home Science presented the laying out of table and prepared quick to serve food items on the stage. The certificates of participation were distributed among the children by the chief guest. The chief guest spoke a few words of encouragement and appreciated the talents of the students.

STUDENTS OF JODHAMAL PUBLIC SCHOOL WIN 43 MEDALS IN WU - SU CHAMPIONSHIP

4th May, 2011: The 2nd Vishal Sharma Memorial Wu-Shu Championship was held on 24th and 25th April in M. A. Stadium. Students of Jodhamal Public School brought laurels to the school by winning 12 Gold, 12 Silver and 19 Bronze medals. The Guest of Honour was Mr. R. S. Chib.

Gold medal winners were – Shivani Verma, Vasudev Gupta, Areba Sheikh, Hameen Rathore, Fahad Wani, Pratham, Nita Bhagat, Farhan Nazir, Raghav Puri, Akshit Verma, Vanshit Verma, Gungun Anand.

Silver medal winners were – Abhijeet Singh, Saadat Mufti, Aahang Javed, Chehak Dogra, Nikunj Langer, Ritvik, Ashita Arora, Pradhum, Pari, Bulbul Anand, Burhan Choudhary, Aahang.

Bronze medal winners were – Hardik Aggarwal, Sahil Atri, Surya, Shubhangni, Nimansh, Dipika, Rujuta Mahajan, Ihwarjeet Singh, Navjot Singh, Kunal Kalia, Sorav, Jaivardhan Sharma, Dravin Gupta, Karun Kapoor, Shruti Suri, Naman Chandok, Janvi, Achyuta Sharma.

All the participants went under the supervision of their coach Mr. Mohit Sharma. .

OVERALL BEST SCHOOL TROPHY WON BY JODHAMAL STUDENTS IN SCIENCE MELA

30th April, 2011: The students of Jodhamal Public School gave outstanding performance in the various science competitions in the "Science Awareness Mela" held at Carmel Convent School organized by National Council for Urban and Rural Development.

In the senior Debate Competition, Harman Kaur Anand of class X bagged the 1st prize. In the Junior Essay Writing Competition, Muskan Gupta of class 8th won the 1st prize. In the Juniors Quiz Competition, Ojasvi Vasudev, of class 8th and Anusha of class 7th won the 1st prize.

Aahan Pandita, of class 6th received 3rd prize in the Painting Competition. Sheikh Eras and Sankasha Sharma of class 11th won the 3rd prize for the model of Hydroponics : the plants which grow without soil which was exhibited in the Science Exhibition.

Students of Jodhamal School brought laurels to their school by winning the overall trophy from among 33 schools that participated .

JODHAMAL SCHOOL LAUNCHES HOME-BROWSING

Dated: 28/04/2011. Jodhamal Public School offers yet another educational incentive to students and parents as a step up to the ongoing Educomp Smart Class programme implemented in the school.

Dr. C. M. Seth, Hony. Director World Wide Fund (WWF) in India marked the occasion as the chief guest. He is also the Environment Consultant SASB and Member State Wild Life Advisory Board.

The programme started with a musical note. The school choir presented the song "Mere Desh Ki Dharti" followed by a mime presentation on "Save Mother Earth", emphasizing on saving water and electricity. The mime beautifully conveyed a message of being responsible citizens and control air and noise pollution. To begin with Kshitj Sethi of class V, Kritika Billowaria of class IV, Aishwaray of class VII and Abhijeet of class X took the green oath. Children from various classes pledged to become environmentally conscious citizens. The Eco buddies of the Eco Club planted trees and in collaboration with the State Pollution Control Board visited homes in Channi Himmat and were successful in more than 300 filament bulbs with Eco – Friendly CFLs.

Towards the end Dr. Seth in his inspiration speech encouraged students to take on eco-friendly practices each day. He gave the slogan "Think Green and Act Green". Quoting lines "Sare Jahan Se Achha Hindustan Hamara, Ham Bulbule hain iski, Yeh Gulsitaan Hamara", Dr. Seth emphasized that we the Bulbule have to make conscious efforts to save our Gulsitaan.

JODHAMAL LAUNCHES "JUMPSTART" THE SCHOOL MAGAZINE

Jodhamal Public School launched its inaugural issue of the school magazine, "JUMP START". Director, School Education Mrs. Zahida Khan graced the occasion and unveiled the first copy of the maiden issue in the school Amphitheatre in the presence of the school Trustee, Mr. Nandan Kuthiala, Mrs. Arati Kuthiala, the school staff and the students.

The historic event began with the school Principal giving the welcome address. On the occasion, the staff editor In Chief Mrs. Mousumi Chandhoke encouraged the budding and blossoming scribes and emphasized that each child is creative and needs to take a step forward to showcase the talent. The other member of the editorial team of the school newsletter Mrs. Prerna Suri and Mrs. Snigdha Khajuria shared their brimming enthusiasm and contributions.

The senior students gave a glimpse into the witty and creative "JUMPSTART". Mrs. Zahjida Khan unveiled the inaugural issue and congratulated the team in enhancing the creative and communicative skills of the students and imparting best education which focuses on all around development.

JODHAMAL FELICITATES CDD STAR PIYUSH

Chak Dhoom Dhoom star Piyush Bhagat graced the stage of his alma mater Jodhamal Public School. A felicitation ceremony was held in his honour in the school's Amphi Theatre. The event was graced by the school management and the Bhagat family. The management and the Principal, Jodhamal Public School announced scholarship for Piyush. The proud parents and sister, Priyanka as well as the grand mother were felicitated with bouquets and a school memento. The audience were spell bound by the scintillating performance given by Piyush and were eager to know more about his success and inspiration. Piyush attributed his success to his parents and school. He also thanked his sister for being his inspiration. Piyush humbly acknowledged the school's support and efforts in helping him achieve heights. JODHAMAL SCHOOL HOSTS LIMCA BOOK OF RECORDS QUIZ, 2010

Jodhamal Public School hosted the Limca Book of Record Quiz 2010 in association with Derek O' Brien & Associates for the very first time in Jammu. The event was organized in the school Amphitheatre. Nearly 200 participants from a total of 33 schools from the Jammu region actively participated in the Quiz. The six schools that qualified the preliminary written round were Jodhamal Public School, Army School Kaluchak, Army School Mira Sahib, DPS Jammu, J. K. Public School and St. Mary's Presentation Convent. DPS Jammu were the winners of the Limca Book of Records Quiz 2010. Jodhamal Public School bagged the second position followed by St. Mary's Presentation Convent at the third position. Mr. Vivek Tyagi, Manager Coca Cola – Jammu Region awarded the winning team. Jodhamal Public School hosted the Jammu Sahodaya Schools Conference.

ThePrincipals of member CBSE schools congregated to bid farewell to the outgoing President of JSSC, Mr. Jorawar Singh and to elect the new President of JSSC. A tree sapling was planted in the school premises by Mr. Jorawar Singh and other Principals to mark the occasion after which Jodhamal School choir sang a song celebrating the spirit of togetherness from Mitra Sen's movie, "The Peace Tree". The proceedings of the meeting began with the Principal of Jodhamal School, Mrs. Krishna Bhati giving a welcome address and a touching farewell tribute to the outgoing President. Other members who spoke on the occasion and expressed their nostalgia and gratitude to Mr. Jorawar Singh were the Treasurer JSSC, Mr. B. N. Sarkar and the Secretary JSSC, Mr. K. C. Mehta. Mementoes were also presented to Mr. Jorawar Singh. It was unanimously acclaimed that Mr. Jorawar had been one of the most dynamic Principal of Jammu. He joined K. C. Public School, Jammu as the Principal in 2004. His tenure as Principal was commendable as the school had won the computer literacy excellence Awards in 2006 and 2008. He also promoted exchange programmes with countries like U.K. and Japan. Under his expert and valuable guidance, K. C. Public School excelled in academics, sports and co-curricular activities. This year, Mr. Jorawar was appointed as mentor and monitor by CBSE to ensure proper implementation of CCE in all CBSE schools of Jammu. JODHAMAL SCHOOL SUMMER CAMP "OASIS - 2010" CONCLUDES

A 12 day summer camp was conducted at Jodhamal Public School. The summer camp culminated in a grand closing ceremony on 11th June' 2010 in the school premises. JODHAMAL   STUDENTS  CELEBRATED  ITS   FIRST
‘BAL SABHA’

Jodhamal Public School celebrated its first open house for class-I "BAL SABHA" in the Amphitheatre in the school premises on 24th April, 2010. The aim of the programme was to put at ease the parents who have sent their children into a new school. The programme started with a welcome Address by the Principal, Mrs. Krishna Bhati. She welcomed the parents with a thought provoking story. It was followed by the students of class I performing action songs. Dr. Chand Trehan, the school counselor and Educational Advisor, had an interactive session with the spellbound audience. The fact that many fathers had taken time out from their busy schedules to attend the function, was highly appreciated. She encouraged the parents to air their views, which they did. It was another feather in the cap for JMPS as the Bal Sabha was a huge success. The session ended with the serving of snacks to the parents and an interactive open house session with the Junior Section Co-ordinator, Mrs. Varnika Ghosh and all the class teachers of class-I.

Brave Hearts Workshop at Jodhamal Public School

JAMMU, Feb -1-2: Jodhamal Public school took pride in being the first in the north region to conduct two-daylong 'Brave Hearts Adventure' workshop that commenced in its school premises here today.

It was a unique workshop conducted under the aegis of LEAP which aimed at making students 'Learn, Explore, Achieve & Play' by specialist facilities, school buildings
and school grounds. As a gesture towards ; community development,
under privileged children were given an opportunity to experience the adventures and re-discover
themselves. The children were thrilled and exuberant.

The young participants showed a lot of excitement, zeal and enthusiasm

The idea behind the workshop was to offer the participants an exposure to vivid activities inviting mental, physical and emotional challenges. They were offered activities like Burma
Bridge, Spiderman
Crawling, Jumaring on the wall, Flying Foxes, Twines, Panther Catwalk, and many
more exciting activities. The adventure camp offered students a chance to go beyond
their perceived limits and achieve their full potentials and also enhanced skills such as leadership, motivation,
planning, courage building, teamwork and
communication. The Leap team of 20 members was led by Anit Sah, the widely acclaimed mountaineer who has achieved a record feat of attempting Mt. Everest at the young age of 17.

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE JAMMU, NOVEMBER 29. TWO-DAY Motsogi-Do Championship-
2009 concluded here at Jodhamal Public School here this evening. The championship was organized by Matsogi-Do Association in collaboration with Jodhamal Public School.
Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Raman Bhalla was the chief guest on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Bhalla lauded the efforts of the organizers for engaging students of different schools of Jammu, Kathua, Udhampur, Doda and Rajouri in sports activities, adding that sports are imperative for making the youth physically and mentally fit. He asked the students to participate in snorts activities besides their academic education. Later, the minister also distributed Gold, Silver and bronze medals among the winners.

MATSOGI-DO STATE CHAMPIONSHIP

The 8,t h J & K State Matsogi-Do Championship was inaugurated in JODHAMAL PUBLIC SCHOOL today. The chief guest, Shri Tara Chand Ji, Deputy Chief Minister declared the meet open with symbolic gesture of release of balloons. The welcome address was given by the Principal of Jodhamal School, Mrs. Krishna Bhati. The President of Matsogi-Do Association, Mr. Taranjeet Singh Tony informed that approximately 600 students from nearly 30 schools & clubs of all the districts of J & K State are taking part. Mr. Tony appreciated that Jodhamal School had extended total logistics and transport support for all the participants. The Deputy CM. commended the Management, Principal & Staff of Jodhamal for their state of art infrastructure, extensive facilities & laudable efforts in promoting sports & activities in their school.

JODHAMAL SCHOOL WINS BHARAT VIKAS
PARISHAD COMPETITION

Bharat Vikas Parishad, Jammu and Kashmir organized a State Level National Group Song competition at Government College for women (GCW) Gandhi Nagar. The students of jodhamal Public School won the first prize in the Hindi category and the second prize in the Sanskrit category. The school team is going to represent the STATE at the Nationals in Bhubneshwar. More than 6,000 schools take part in the Bharat Vikas Parisad competition in India. Th. Diwakar Singh was the chief guest while, Prof. Nalini Kohli was the guest of Honour. Prof. Suresh Gupta presided over the function and Prof. Satish Anand was the national observer for the competition. The patriotic song - 'Suraj badle, chanda badle, badle chahe dhruv tara,' left the audience spell bound and the efforts of the students were applauded and appreciated by the audience.

JAMMU: Students of JK Montessorie School, Talab Tillo bagged second prize in Hindi and Sanskrit Group Song Competition in the Inter-school National Group Song Competition organised by Bharat Vikas Parishad in Jamrnu. Pburteen schools of Jaramu province participated in this competition. Patriotic songs in Hindi and Sanskrit were sung during the function. Minister for Revenue and Rehabilitation Raman Bhalla presided over the function as a Chief Guest. Students of JK Montessorie participated in both Hindi and Sanskrit patriotic songs and brought honour to the school. They earned huge applause from the audience for their performance. The efforts put by students and the school management were appreciated by one and all. Raman Bhalla and other dignitaries of Bharat Vikas Parishad presented the rolling trophy to the winning team of JK ontessorie School. School management and staff congratulated the students and awarded the students of winner team who had excelled in this competition. The cash awards and proficiency certificates were given to all participants. Students were trained for this competition by Ramesli Parwana. They were also awarded with mementoes and cash, Meanwhile students of Jodhamai School won the first pme in the Sanskrit Group Song Competition. The school team will represent J and K State at the National Level Bharat Vikas Parishad Competition in Kanpur. Jammu Adventure Sports Club held its 11th Interschool Debate Competition today at the Jodhamal Public School, Jammu. The motion for the debate was"Is Abolition of lO"1 Board Exams Beneficial" 24 participants from over 12 leading schools took part in the lively session. The function was presided over by Mrs Zahida Khan, Director School Education, Jammu. The Guest of honour was Mrs. Krishna Bhatti, Principal, Jodhamal Public School, Channi Himmat, Jammu. The Judges were Mrs Neetu Ghulati, Member Jammu Adventure Sports Club, Mrs Geetanjali Rana, HOD English Deptt of Govt College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, and Mrs Rita Jain, Principal Tawish College. The convenors of the debate programme were Mrs Sarla Kohli & Mrs Aparna Kuthiala. Speaking on the occasion, the Secretary of Jammu Adventure Sports Club Mr. Sandeep Sethi gave the history of the Club whose aims are encouraging Adventure Sports, Promotion of Cultural Heritage and Protection of the Environment. The students of Jodhamal Public School participated in an Inter school Painting Competition held at JAMKASH Vehicleades. The students of Jodhamal Public School bagged the First and the Third prizes. Four consolation prizes were also bagged by the students. The students
who got the 1st and the 3rd prizes are Aahan Pandita and Arinjaya Singh respectively. The students bagging the consolation prizes are: Akansha Solanki, Jyotirmay Sharma, Surya Pratap Singh and Warnika Slathia. Most
of the leading school of the city took part in the competition.

FORMER VC AMU VISIT JODHAMAL

Former Vice Chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University Dr. M. Rahman visited Jodhamal Public School recently. He is also Advisory Board Member of the school. JODHAMAL Public | School conducted a two-day Scouts and Guides camp, ;wherein the Scouts and Guides were trained in deaf 'and dumb signalling among pther disciplines. The twoday camp was held on September 15 and September 16. The students were trained and guided by Sahaj Singh, State Training Commissioner, Dr Gurcharan Singh Ghai, State Head
Commissioner, Bimla Handoo and Neeru Talwar, both HWB guides. The camp was very useful for students as they learnt deaf and dumb signalling, flag song, prayers and patrin
tic songs, form, salute, left handshake, Scouts and Guides sign, so- , cial service, self-reliance and brotherhood. On the occasion, the students were motivated to . work towards discipline, meditation and simplicity. The trainers elaborated on the need of an education
whicli would help students equip themselves for struggle in life and strengthen their characters. The Bharat Scouts and Guides is a step towards strengthening mental and

International Peace Tree Day celebrated

JAMMU: The students of Jodhamal Public School celebrated International Peace Tree Day in the school premises on JViday. International Peace Tree Day is an annual festival for children and families of every culture and faith to share and celebrate peace and diversity together. The Canadian High Commission is propagating this message in India. To mark the occasion, the students were shown the award winning movie Peace Tree by educator and film maker Mitra Senv The students also adopted a tree in school and hung symbols of different faith and religions on it. The whole school sang the Peace Tree song and pledged to bring peace all around. Prof. Posh Charak, Director, Centre of New Literatures, Culture and Communication and Dr. Tarunnum Khan were the Guests of Honour.'Prof. Charak stressed the need for world peace and encouraged students to take the first step in bridging the gap through their innocence and curiosity and influence the adults to-be more open minded. While speaking on the occasion, the Principal of the school, Krishna Bhati said that the need of the hour is to bring peace and understand that peace cannot be kept by force, it can only be achieved by understanding.
